While beautiful, and durable, travertine surfaces do require regular maintenance. For homeowners who’ve chosen travertine for their pool and patio areas, high quality Travertine Pool Deck Sealing should be a top priority.

We regularly speak with customers who are at their wits end with the problems that their travertine surfaces are giving them. Algae fills the joints, mildew accumulates in the pores of the stone, they drop, they shift, they wobble, they grow weeds and in general they can look somewhat dull. Especially compared with the stone that’s portrayed in marketing material, magazines and the web.

Travertine Pool Deck Sealing

The key benefit in Travertine Pool Deck Sealing is the enhancement of the stones natural qualities while simultaneously eliminating the issues that cause homeowners such headaches. At PaverSealing.com we’ve perfected that balance over the course of the past 12 years.

Here’s a brief look at what’s included in our Travertine Pool Deck Sealing Service…

Thorough cleaning. We’ll remove algae, mold, mildew, dirt, dust, weeds etc..

  • Re-leveling and repair. We can remove, re-level and replace any dropping, shifting or otherwise damaged portions of the surface. Often these problems are caused by underlying issues such as tree roots, erosion, or shifting. We would always want to resolve the cause of the problem as well, whether it be shaving a tree root, packing a hole with concrete and pea gravel or re forming a damaged concrete edge restraint.
  • Re-Sanding of the joints. When re-sanding travertine Paver joints we recommend the use of Gatormaxx Bond, Polymeric Sand. This sand sweeps in dry, and once wet, sets up hard. Unlike other methods which attempt to use sealer to”flood coat” or “lock in” regular play or construction sand, polymeric sand is specifically designed for this application. As a result, it can eliminate weed growth and perform flawlessly in joints up to 2” in width for up to 10 years. It’s also available in a few different colors, including White, Black Diamond, Slate Grey and Beige.
  • Non-Skid. We include the application of “Shark Grip” with every pool deck service that we do.
  • Sealant application. We use a high solids, solvent based product line, manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Available in Matte, Satin and Gloss finishes, with and without color enhancement. We can create exactly the look you want from your travertine.
